Materials required:

Step 1: Draw a pot

We will first start by drawing a pot. This is very simple. Draw a circle and make it narrower on the top. Instead of closing the circle with a curve on the top, draw a straight line. Your pot is ready. Now you need to draw Pongal.

Pongal, also known as Huggi, is a famous South Indian rice dish. "Pongal" means "bubbling up" in Tamil. It is a meal made of rice, boiling milk, and sugar. Huggi is a corruption of the Old Kannada word Puggi, which means "bubbled up, inflated." Pongal is classified into two types: sweet chakarai Pongal and venn Pongal, which is prepared from clarified butter. Pongal is a typical morning dish that mainly refers to spicy venn Pongal. During the Pongal celebration, chakarai Pongal is prepared.

When you draw the Pongal in the pot, make sure that it is dripping out of the pot.

Step 4: Add prasad

Prasad, sometimes written Prasdam, Prasad, and Prasda is a tangible substance that is used as a devotional gift in Hinduism and Sikhism. Prasada is typically a vegetarian meal consumed by worshipers following devotion. In Hinduism, Mahaprasda (also called Bhandr) is the consecrated meal presented to the god in a Hindu temple, comparable to the langar in Sikhism, which is subsequently shared and eaten by the public without prejudice.

Although in this festival, Pongal is the prasad in itself, the most family have other offerings as well. On the leaf, we have drawn a tray. You can draw any kind of festive offering you like. Fruits are the best option. We have drawn grapes, banana, coconut and a Diya lamp. Feel free to add any other kind of Prasada you want to.

Step 5: Add sugarcane

Sugarcane is very essential in a Pongal festival. On the right-hand side, we will draw two sugarcane sticks. To draw sugarcane, we will draw two lines next to each other. Inside this, draw various horizontal lines at an equal distance. On the top of the sugarcane, draw the leaves. Towards the left of the pot, draw various leaves. Using a light pencil, shade all over the drawing.
